Thank you for your interest in "Grandpa’s Neighbors!" Great Grandpa
used to say, "Pull ye up a chair and sit down by it!" or to the little
ones he’d say, "Sit down on yer fist and lean back on yer thumb!"
Though neither sounds very comfortable, both comments opened the door
to many a pleasant visit as enjoyable as sipping a cool glass of well
water on a hot summer day.
Perhaps you’d like to find a nice comfortable chair and rest for a
moment while we introduce you to the family ministry of "Grandpa’s
Neighbors".
We appreciate the privilege of being able to stand together as
a family in witness for our God and His perfect provision for His
people. We are simple, honest, country folk striving to honor God in
all that we do.
We have been told that listening to us sing is like reading the
King James Bible. We count that as a very high complement, for we
desire to sing, and to write, songs in which the pure and simple truths
of God’s word reach the heart of all who listen, whether they are
seated in the opry house or on a church pew.
We savor the smell of fresh turned soil, new hay and homemade bread,
the feel of a gentle country breeze, and the sweet mellow tones of
acoustic instruments and soft rain on our tin roof.
We sing in a style that is a pleasant mix of country, bluegrass
and traditional gospel. We have many, many songs, some original to our
group. We never repeat a show or service exactly for we set each line
up of songs according to God’s leading for each specific audience or
congregation.
We are an all girl band with all girl vocals but we never go to
any performance without Dad or at least one of our Grandpa’s. They love
us and take care of us very well and we appreciate the covering of
protection God has placed us under.
We recognize the seriousness of the ministry God has placed us in
and we know the peace that comes while walking through the hardest
places in the perfect will of God. There is joy in serving God, even in
the midst of trials!
We would not even have the breath of life if it weren’t for the
grace and mercy of God. We hope that when we meet you in person, you
see Him in us. It is our desire to be instruments in God’s hands. We go
where God leads, striving daily to walk in His perfect will. We marvel
at the things God has done in our lives for we truly are simple country
folk trying to live for God in an ungodly world.
We really are Grandpa’s neighbors! He lives right across the
road from us and has introduced us at local singings for as long as we
can remember by saying, "For those of you who don’t know who this next
group is, this here’s my neighbors!"
Some of our fondest memories of Great Grandpa are of him
preaching and singing praises to God with all his heart. The foundation
of our ministry was lain generations ago by humble men willing to do
whatever God called them to do. They were farmers, fathers, husbands,
but first they were servants of God. What a heritage we have! We humbly
follow their example.
We are looking forward to meeting you in person. We pray for God’s
perfect will as you make your decision as to when that may be.
In closing, we say, as Great Grandpa used to say as we gathered
our things to leave, "Ya’ll take care now! And, pray for us every
chance you get!"
